Notes on the Weekend

Let's see, the weekend started Friday night, when I met Mom for dinner, then we went to see Avatar. And it was AMAZING! I've started to explore just a bit the whole spiritual side of Gaia theory and Wicca, mostly from a philosophical point of view, but also from a spiritual aspect as well. In any case, I thought this movie really touched on some of the things I have been thinking about a lot lately, and I love how they portrayed the ideas--it was a beautiful movie, with a beautiful message.

So that was Friday. Saturday I did some cleaning at the apt, then I went to Ecotage Salon to get my hair done, since I had a free gift certificate that I had won in a raffle. Well, I ended up getting a cut and color--and I love my crazy, funky, BRIGHT red hair!!! I'll post pics as soon as I get some of the pics from the party--they were a great example of my hair.

Saturday evening I went to Cincy to have Christmas with Jill. We had a wonderful evening, and exchanged our gifts. My last gift from her was in a card--it was the first clue in a scavenger hunt! It was so much fun--she had me going all around the house, looking for clues. Then I eventually made it to the closet, where my final present was hiding--a new LCD, flat screen tv!!! OMG!!! For those who didn't know, my old tv is a tiny, 15inch, 20 year old piece of junk. Now I can actually see my tv, and I can access my cable channels!

Saturday night, we drove back to Lexington to do some cleaning and prep for the party the next day. Then Sunday I woke up early and got started on more prep work, and we spent the day getting ready for the party. And it was SUCH a BLAST!!! (sing to the 12 days of christmas, after 5 golden rings): '20 party guests, 34 gifts, 3 tables full o' food, and a munchkin in a pear tree.' LOL! It was a lot of fun! The party ended about 2:30am, and Jill and I crashed for about an hour, then we got up and I drove her to Louisville to catch a plane to California (yes, my Baby's going to be thousands of miles away for a whole week! **pouty face**). I got back to town at 7 this morning. Had a doctor's appt at 9am, went into work after that.

I'm sleepy...

Oh...if you were at the party...what was your favorite gift idea or foods? I want fresh feedback so I can stick it in my head for next year's party (and all the parties in between). :-)

Sounds SO fun! We were sorry to miss it, although the family party was much more fun than we feared expected.

Those bacon things were great, yum! And next time, have brown sugar because as great as rum & cider is, trust me hot buttered rum is way better.

Jyothi putting on the Elvis stuff may have been the highlight of the night, though I also had a lot of fun just throwing wrapping paper at people.
